Saturday Night Live took sharp aim at White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt this weekend, introducing a savage new impression that quickly made waves. Cast member Ashley Padilla debuted as Leavitt in the cold open, portraying her as combative, defensive, and hilariously overwhelmed by the week’s political controversies.

The sketch opened in a mock White House Press Briefing Room, where Padilla’s Leavitt cheerfully greeted reporters:
“I am just so excited to be here and answer your friendly questions. As you all know, there was no news this week.”
The audience immediately burst into laughter.
She continued with sarcastic denial:
“Nothing happening with the president. No weird information was revealed. No one had any accusations that rhyme with ‘edophile.’”
The first question came from CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, played by Chloe Fineman, who asked about the 20,000 Epstein-related emails released earlier by the House Oversight Committee. Several of the emails referenced former President Donald Trump, including one in which Epstein claimed Trump “knew about the girls.”
Padilla’s Leavitt snapped back:
“You know you suck, right?”
She then attempted a shaky defense:
“If anything, his only crime was loving too much. And possibly too young.”
The sketch then cut to a friendly, softball question from a Fox News reporter — introduced as an “unnamed Black guy,” portrayed by newcomer Kam Patterson — who asked,
“Is President Trump too healthy?”
Leavitt gratefully accepted the lifeline, praising Trump’s recent physical and cognitive test.
But the moment didn’t last.
An MSNBC reporter played by Bowen Yang pressed Leavitt again on Trump’s ties to Ghislaine Maxwell, referencing reports that she may seek a commuted sentence. Leavitt responded with:
“Ghislaine Maxwell said in a sworn deposition she gave to Trump’s friend that Trump always acted like a gentleman. And a little thing about me? I believe women.”
As the questions continued circling back to Epstein, a frustrated Leavitt pleaded for reporters to switch topics — only for another journalist to ask about Trump allegedly sending money to Argentina to help President Javier Milei pay off national debts.
Leavitt threw up her hands and yelled:
“We shall return to Epstein!”
Finally, Trump himself — played brilliantly by James Austin Johnson — stormed into the briefing room, hijacking the event with rambling explanations of his past relationship with Epstein:
“Jeffrey Epstein, I barely knew the guy… as evidenced by the thousands of pictures of us together, dancing and grinding our teeth at various parties.”
He closed the sketch by announcing a fictional plan to monetize the scandal:
“I’m going to release all of the Epstein files. Each file will be on sale for the low, low price of $800.”
